Programme

Paul Tuite of Dublin was the Referee of the game which was played at Tolka Park, Dublin. Leeds put on another dismal display that left them without a win after six pre-season fixtures. While Aston Villa went on to trounce St Patrick's Athletic 6-0 in the Final, Leeds finished with the wooden spoon after being beaten by the other Semi-Final losers, Shelbourne. Leeds were never in the game after poor defending left them two goals down in the first twenty-two minutes. Leeds made four changes at half-time when James Milner replaced Nick Barmby, Martin Woods replaced Stephen McPhail, Ian Harte came on for Jason Wilcox and Aaron Lennon took over from Lamine Sakho, but they failed to break down a resolute home defence.
